A Mark II version of the Metro was introduced in 1984. At the end of 1987 the Austin marque was shelved and from 1987 the car was sold simply as the Metro. From late 1985, after BL discontinued use of the Morris name, the van was sold as the Austin Metro 310, and the van was the last model of the original Metro to end production, at the end of 1990. From 1989 three door versions were given a raised fuel filler. Its model years run from 1984 to 1990.
