1966 AMC Ambassador

Automobiles

The Ambassador in 1966 received changes that were on target as sales of the repositioned Ambassador more than tripled. The standard six cylinder engine now featured larger valves, and the Ambassador came with a standard V8, as the competing Chevrolet Bel Air and Impala, Ford Custom 500 and Galaxie, and Plymouth Fury came with six cylinder engines as standard equipment. Motor Trend tested an Ambassador convertible with a Twin Stick overdrive transmission.
