The 2020 TLX was the last of the first generation. Because the RLX ended after the 2020 model year, the TLX stood as Acura's flagship sedan. Its successor appeared online on May 28, 2020, entering production that August, so the two generations overlapped for a time. The 2020 car still had the 2.4 litre four-cylinder and the 3.5 litre V6, with SH-AWD optional on the V6 and a front-drive four-cylinder at the low end of the range.
