The 2018 RDX was the last of the second generation, whose 3.5 litre V6 engines were built from 2013 to 2018. In June 2018 Acura ran a one-off RDX with a modified 2.0 litre turbo engine, a 48-volt mild hybrid and an electric supercharger at the Pikes Peak hill climb, and the third-generation RDX arrived at dealers on June 1, 2018 as a 2019 model, with production started in May 2018 in East Liberty, Ohio.
