ZIL-130

The ZIL-130 is a Soviet and later Russian truck built by ZIL in Moscow, with a rated capacity of five to six tons, its first prototype built in 1956 and production beginning in 1962 before reaching full mass production in 1964. Built as a general-purpose cargo truck for the Soviet economy, the ZIL-130 became one of the most numerous truck designs ever produced in the USSR and Russia, with a total of 3,380,000 units built by 1994, and it served across an enormous range of civilian and military transport roles throughout the Soviet period. Production of the design continued after 1995 at the Ural Motor Plant under the designation UamZ-43140, once ZIL itself had ended its own production run, extending the basic ZIL-130 design's working life well beyond the factory that originally created it.
