The Suzuki Stratosphere is a concept motorcycle from Suzuki powered by an 1100 cc transverse, narrow bore, 24 valve inline six engine rated at 180 hp. According to Suzuki press materials the engine made more than 100 lb ft of torque from just above idle to the redline, and it was reported to be three quarters of an inch narrower than the Hayabusa four cylinder because of the narrow bore spacing. The prototype was first unveiled on 22 October 2005 at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show, and its general design harks back to the original Katana ED1 and ED2 created by Target Design. It carried an electrically adjustable windshield, four LED headlights, adjustable handlebars, built in satellite navigation with Bluetooth, attachable saddlebags, a servo operated manual transmission with selectable manual and automatic modes, and a wireless key fob anti theft system. Suzuki confirmed in August 2007 that it would enter production, expected as a 2009 model.
