Suzuki Karimun

Automobiles

The Suzuki Karimun is a nameplate for city cars that Suzuki marketed in Indonesia between September 1999 and 2021 through its Indonesian subsidiary Suzuki Indomobil Motor. It is named after Great Karimun, a group of islands in the Karimun Regency of the Riau Islands, although the subsidiary also said the name was coined from the phrase carry to the moon. The Karimun models are based on kei car platforms of the Wagon R family. The first generation, built from 1999 to 2006, was a locally built car based on the first generation Wagon R Wide. The second, from 2007 to 2013, was the Karimun Estilo, a rebadged Maruti Zen Estilo. The third, from 2013 to 2021, was the Karimun Wagon R, assembled under the Indonesian Low Cost Green Car programme.
