Suzuki Hayabusa

The Suzuki Hayabusa is a sport touring motorcycle built by the Japanese manufacturer Suzuki, introduced in 1999 with smoothed aerodynamic bodywork and a large four-cylinder engine that made it, at launch, the fastest production motorcycle in the world. Its name, taken from the Japanese word for the peregrine falcon, a bird of prey that hunts the blackbird evoked by the model name of a rival Honda motorcycle it was designed to outperform, reflected the intense speed competition among Japanese manufacturers in the late 1990s that later led some makers to voluntarily limit production motorcycle top speeds. Continuously updated over multiple generations while keeping its distinctive rounded fairing silhouette, the Hayabusa became one of the best known and longest-lived nameplates in high-performance sport touring motorcycles.
