The Suzuki Ertiga is a series of three-row multi-purpose vehicles that Suzuki has built since 2012, designed mainly for emerging markets, with India and Indonesia as its largest markets and main production sites. The first generation was previewed by the R3 concept at the 2010 Auto Expo, unveiled at the Auto Expo in New Delhi in January 2012 and launched in India that April and in Indonesia ten days later, on the platform of the second-generation Swift. The second generation of 2018 is larger and uses the Heartect platform. Other makers have sold it under their own names, including the Mazda VX-1 in Indonesia, the Proton Ertiga in Malaysia and, since 2021, the Toyota Rumion. A crossover-styled version arrived in 2019 as the XL6 in India and the XL7 elsewhere, and the name Ertiga comes from an Indonesian reading of R3, for three rows.
