Suzuki Boulevard S40

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The Suzuki Boulevard S40, formerly the LS650 Savage, is a lightweight cruiser motorcycle made by Suzuki Motor Corporation for the Japanese domestic market and exported to New Zealand, North America, Chile and other countries. It was sold as the Savage from 1986 to 2004 and renamed the Boulevard S40 in 2005, and apart from minor cosmetic changes it has remained unchanged, receiving a five-speed instead of a four-speed transmission in 1993. The Savage was the first cruiser Suzuki made, and Suzuki markets the S40 as an entry-level model that weighs 173 kg and has a 28 inch seat height. Its engine is a 652 cc four-stroke, air-cooled, single overhead camshaft single with a balance shaft and an output of 31 horsepower, and a 1996 test measured a quarter mile in 15.3 seconds.
