Suzuki Boulevard C109R

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The Suzuki Boulevard C109R is a motorcycle introduced in 2008 as the classic cruiser version of the Boulevard M109R, which had been released two years earlier. In Europe it is sold as the Suzuki Intruder C1800R and is often called by its model number, VLR1800. Both bikes use essentially the same 1,783 cc, four valve DOHC, 54 degree, liquid cooled, fuel injected V twin, but the C109R is detuned with a smaller throttle body of 52 mm instead of 56 mm and shorter valve duration, giving 113 hp and 114 lbf ft of torque against 123 hp and 120 lbf ft for the M109R. It is also 12.5 cm longer, 4.5 cm wider, has a wheelbase 4 cm longer and weighs 42 kg more. The bores are lined with Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material to help heat transfer, and the transmission has five speeds.
