Sukhoi Su-27

Military Aircraft

The Su-27 is a Soviet-designed twin-engine air superiority fighter developed by Sukhoi that entered service in the mid-1980s as the Soviet Union's answer to contemporary American fighters such as the F-15, built with a large wing and airframe shape that gave it long range and outstanding aerodynamic agility. Known for maneuvers such as the Pugachev's Cobra that demonstrate its ability to fly at extreme angles of attack, it became the basis for a large family of derivatives, including carrier-capable and multirole variants, and was widely exported and license-built after the Cold War, remaining a mainstay of Russian and allied air forces.
