The Sukhoi KR-860, named Wings of Russia and earlier designated SKD-717, was a proposed double-deck wide-body superjumbo airliner from the Russian company Sukhoi. A one twenty-fourth scale model was shown at the 1999 Paris Air Show. The design had a maximum weight of about 650 tonnes and a payload of about 300 tonnes, with 12-abreast seating on the main deck and 9-abreast on the upper deck, intended for 860 to 1,000 passengers who would enter through fuselage doors or ventral escalators. A tanker version was also proposed that would have used liquefied natural gas to fuel its turbines. The forecast programme cost was US$10 billion for a market of 300 aircraft, but the project never went beyond marketing models.
