The Siemens Viaggio Comfort is a brand of locomotive-hauled railway passenger cars built by Siemens Mobility. The car was designed in the early 2000s from the earlier Viaggio Classic cars and was first used in 2008 on Railjet, the high-speed service run by Austrian Federal Railways and Czech Railways. Siemens built it after the Austrian railway asked for push-pull trainsets that could keep using its fleet of Siemens EuroSprinter locomotives, and in February 2006 it was announced as the best and cheapest design. The first order was for 23 seven-coach sets and a second in September 2007 added 44, worth 798 million euros for 469 carriages. Spirit Design styled the cars, the sets were built in Maribor, Slovenia, and the first Railjet commercial service began on 14 December 2008. Czech Railways later ordered further sets for InterJet and international services.
