Renault TRM 700-100

The Renault TRM 700-100, for Toutes Roues Motrices, 700 hp and 100 tonnes of gross train weight, is a French military tractor in service since the mid 1990s. It allows, for example, the logistic transport of a heavy tank, vehicles or construction equipment on a six-axle semi-trailer, and as a tank transporter it offers a payload of 60 tonnes. In 1993 the French army ordered 179 from Renault Vehicules Industriels, and 119 were in service in the army on 31 December 2013. It was developed from the TRM 10000, differing notably by a reinforced chassis and transmission, a more powerful engine from a Mack model, a more spacious five-seat cab and twin rear wheels. It has three permanently driven axles (6x6), its engine has a dry sump and starts in great cold, and the maximum speed is 75 km/h on a flat road. The full combination measures about 21 m and has nine axles, the last three steering, with an empty weight of 37 tonnes and a gross weight of 98 tonnes. It was designed to carry the Leclerc tank.
