Preussen was a German steel hulled, five masted, ship rigged sailing vessel built in 1902 for the Hamburg shipping firm F. Laeisz. She was the only ship of her kind ever built with five full masts each carrying six square sails, a configuration no other sailing ship achieved, making her one of the most distinctive commercial sailing vessels of the early twentieth century nitrate and general cargo trades.
