Piper PA-31T Cheyenne

General Aviation and Light Aircraft

The Piper PA-31T Cheyenne is a twin-engine turboprop that Piper developed from the earlier PA-31P Pressurized Navajo. It began as an upgraded Pressurized Navajo fitted with two Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6A-28 turboprop engines of 620 shaft horsepower each, and was then refined with aerodynamic improvements and fuselage extensions. It carries a crew of two and four to six passengers, with a maximum takeoff weight of about 4,082 kilograms and a maximum speed of roughly 525 kilometres per hour in the figures quoted from Jane's for 1976 to 1977. The PA-31T led directly to the larger PA-42 Cheyenne III and IV.
