The LTI TXII is a London hackney carriage that London Taxis International manufactured from 2002 to 2006. It was the second model of the modernised London taxi that began with the TX1 and differed from it chiefly in its engine, a change from the Nissan unit to an intercooled Ford Duratorq diesel which, according to the manufacturer, raised torque by 21 percent. The remaining changes were largely cosmetic or minor improvements to the design and equipment of the TX1. It was available with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox. The Carbodies history also credits it with an integral fold-down ramp for wheelchair users, an intermediate step and swivel-out seat for passengers with moderate walking difficulties, and an induction loop in the intercom for passengers with hearing problems. The TX4 succeeded it.
