Lola T800

Automobiles

The Lola T800 is an open-wheel racing car chassis designed and built by Lola Cars that competed in the CART series in the 1984 IndyCar season. It was the Newman Haas Racing team emergency vehicle in the series, a team founded by Paul Newman and Carl Haas in 1983, and was powered by the 800 horsepower Ford-Cosworth DFX turbo engine. Driven by Mario Andretti and Danny Sullivan, it won eight straight races, five for Andretti and three for Sullivan, and Andretti secured the 1984 CART championship with it, although neither driver could win the Indianapolis 500.
