The Lola T160 and its evolution, the T165, were purpose-built Group 7 sports prototype race cars designed and developed by the British chassis manufacturer Lola Cars to compete in the Can-Am series in 1968. The T160 was the successor to the competitive Lola T70 and shared its design roots. The chassis was built from fibreglass moulded into an aluminium monocoque, which kept the car light at only 670 kilograms. Most cars were powered by a Chevrolet ZL1 or a Ford FE big-block engine producing about 625 to 750 horsepower, mated to a Hewland four-speed or five-speed manual gearbox. It was used in competition until 1971 and ran alongside the newer T220 in 1970.
