The Lola Mk4, together with its derivative the Mk4A, was a Formula One racing car constructed by Lola in 1962. It was designed by Eric Broadley, Lola founder, owner and chief designer, at the request of Reg Parnell, who ran the Bowmaker Racing Team. It was the first design Lola produced for the top tier of motorsport, and it began the company's first period in Grand Prix racing. Bowmaker Racing entered the cars for John Surtees and Roy Salvadori, and Surtees took pole position in the car's first World Championship race. Wins in championship Grands Prix did not follow, although points were often scored. Reg Parnell kept running the cars privately after Bowmaker withdrew, and the privateer Bob Anderson gave the Mk4 its last victory, in the non-championship Rome Grand Prix of 1963.
