Lola B2K/40

Automobiles

The Lola B2K/40 was a Le Mans Prototype developed in 2000 by Lola Cars International as a cheaper, smaller and lighter alternative to the Lola B2K/10. It was designed for the SR2 class of the Sports Racing World Cup and the Grand American Road Racing Championship and later adapted to the LMP675 and LMP2 classes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in the American Le Mans Series. It used a simplified footbox, a flattened nose and narrow wedge-shaped fenders. The chosen engine was a small production-based V6, the AER-modified Nissan VQ 3.0 litre, though customers also used other engines. Sixteen were built. It won its class at Le Mans in 2000 with Multimatic Motorsports and in 2004 with Intersport Racing, and was replaced in 2005 by the Lola B05/40.
