A kibitka is a Russian carriage or sledge with a cloth cover stretched over bent wooden bows, roughly built and often held together with rope, with a hay-filled cushion serving as a sling seat. Mounted on wheels for summer travel or runners for winter travel, it was used both for everyday journeys and as a posting wagon across Russia and Central Asia.
