The WAG-11 is a class of twin-section 25 kV AC electric freight locomotives developed in 2018 by Banaras Locomotive Works in Varanasi for Indian Railways. Each locomotive is a pair of sections designed for a speed of 105 kilometres per hour and weighing 252 tonnes in total, fitted with three-phase induction motors, four power converters, and regenerative and pneumatic braking. The class name stands for broad gauge, alternating current, goods traffic and the eleventh in the series. The class entered trial service in 2019, and as of January 2023 four locomotives had been built and were under testing, with more being converted from WDG-4 diesel locomotives.
