Hyundai Veracruz

Automobiles

The Hyundai Veracruz, sold in the European Union and Russia as the Hyundai ix55, was a mid-size crossover that Hyundai manufactured from 2006 to 2015 and its largest crossover SUV. It was unveiled in South Korea on 12 October 2006, reached the United States as a 2007 model and went on sale in March 2007. It was sold in the United States, Canada, South Korea, China, Morocco, South America and the Middle East, and was imported to Europe and parts of Asia from 2007 to 2011 before being dropped everywhere except South Korea. The name refers to the Mexican state of Veracruz, although the car was never sold in Mexico. It replaced the truck-based Terracan, and in Europe it was sold only with a 3.0 litre V6 turbodiesel, while North American cars used a 3.8 litre V6 of 260 horsepower with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
