The Hyundai Santro is a city car that Hyundai produced between 1998 and 2014, with its nameplate revived from 2018 until 2022. The name was chosen for the Indian market from Saint-Tropez, the French city famous for fashion, because Hyundai wanted to present the car as fashionable. The first generation, introduced in 1998 and on sale from early 1999, was the Atos Prime sold in Europe and the Kia Visto in South Korea and Indonesia; it was also called the Santro Zip in India from 1998 to 2006, and a facelifted version launched in 2003 was the Santro Xing, sold until 2014. The second generation, a standalone model positioned below the i10, launched in India on 23 October 2018 to replace the Eon, with a 1.1 litre Epsilon petrol engine of 69 horsepower and a bi-fuel petrol and CNG option, and it was discontinued in 2022.
