Hyundai Dynasty

Automobiles

The Hyundai Dynasty was a premium executive sedan that debuted in 1996 and was made by Hyundai Motor Company at Ulsan in South Korea until it was discontinued in 2005. It shared its platform with the smaller Grandeur, and Hyundai gave it a different badge, a stylised D, to set it apart; features included electronically controlled suspension, dual climate control and power memory seats in front and rear. At its introduction it was the top-level flagship, although it was front-wheel drive, with extended-length versions and V6 engines of 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 litres. When the joint luxury flagship Mitsubishi Proudia and Hyundai Equus arrived in April 1999 the Dynasty lost its flagship designation, sales suffered and the 3.5 litre engine was dropped, and the Hyundai Aslan later filled the market position it had held.
