Hyundai Creta

Automobiles

The Hyundai Creta is a subcompact crossover SUV that Hyundai has built since 2014, mainly for emerging markets and above all the BRICS countries. It sits above the Venue and below the Alcazar in the Hyundai SUV range. The first generation appeared as the near-production ix25 Concept at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2014, went on sale in China that October as the ix25 and reached India as the Creta in July 2015; a second generation was introduced in 2019, with a longer three-row derivative called the Alcazar, Creta Grand or Grand Creta. It has been manufactured in China, India, Russia, Brazil and Indonesia, and was named after the island of Crete, with the Dominican Republic selling it as the Cantus. The Creta was the best-selling SUV in Russia from 2017 to 2021 and has been the best-selling SUV in India since 2020. Developed markets such as South Korea, the United States and Europe receive the Kona instead.
