Hyundai Celesta

Automobiles

The Hyundai Celesta is a compact car built by the Beijing Hyundai joint venture from 2017 to 2023, replacing the extended production of the Hyundai Elantra Yuedong. It was unveiled at the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show as an essentially restyled and updated Elantra Yuedong, a continuation of the fourth generation Hyundai Elantra, whose production in South Korea ended in 2010 but carried on in China. There was only one engine, a 1.6 litre unit of 122 horsepower, mated to a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. A station wagon version, the Celesta RV, sold in China as the Yixing, was launched in September 2018. Its Chinese name is Yuedong, the same as the Elantra model it continued.
