The second span of the Express began in 1981 with a series of improvements to both models: an automatic choke, a tougher kick starter and capacitor discharge ignition. The Express SR (NX50), with a V-Matic continuously variable transmission, electric starter and 12 volt electrical system, was new in 1981. The 1982 Express had a new frame and a two speed transmission, the Urban Express (NU50) took the place of the Express II, 1983 was the last Express year in North America and 1984 the last in the United Kingdom. Each model year has its own page.
