Technologies from Honda's RC211V MotoGP bike were the basis of the 2003 CBR600RR, which was also given a look similar to it. It was the first Honda with Unit Pro-Link rear suspension, and the first with Honda's Dual Stage Fuel Injection, both taken directly from the RC211V. Honda's Hollow Fine Die Cast frame technology, in which sand casting molds had a coating of ceramic inside, allowed the five piece aluminum frame to be thinner, 2.5 mm where it had been 3.5 mm. The 2003 model carried over to 2004 technically unchanged. Each model year has its own page.
