Honda Racing Corporation made the XRV650 Africa Twin in 1988 and 1989, a lighter version of higher specification with a chain transmission and an engine of 650 cc making 42 kW (56 hp), and the line that followed it was a development of the original. It preceded the XRV750 and was the first Africa Twin. The NXR-750 won the Paris-Dakar rally on four occasions in the late 1980s, and the Africa Twin line was based on it. Each model year has its own page.
