The Genesis GV80 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV made and marketed by Genesis, the luxury division of Hyundai, since 2021, and it was the first SUV of the Genesis brand. Internally codenamed JX1, it followed a 2017 concept of the same name, was leaked in 3D in October 2019 and was unveiled in January 2020. It is built on a rear-wheel-drive architecture with aluminium doors, hood and tailgate, and was offered with turbocharged 2.5 and 3.5 litre petrol engines and a turbocharged 3.0 litre diesel in selected markets. A refreshed GV80 and a coupe-roofline GV80 Coupe were unveiled on 27 September 2023. Hyundai suspended delivery of the diesel in June 2020 after engine vibration problems and recalled 8,783 cars in September 2020 for engine stall.
