The Genesis GV70 is a compact luxury D-segment crossover SUV made by Genesis, the luxury division of Hyundai, and the second SUV of the brand after the mid-size GV80. Internally codenamed JK1, it was launched globally on 8 December 2020 in a live-streamed film, entered production in 2021 for the 2022 model year and is built in South Korea and, for the United States, at the Hyundai plant in Montgomery, Alabama, a practice that ends with the 2027 model year. It was offered with a 2.2 litre diesel in markets outside the United States, a 2.5 litre turbocharged engine and a 3.5 litre twin-turbocharged engine. The Electrified GV70, a dual-motor battery electric version, was released on 16 March 2022, and the GV70 won the 2022 Motor Trend SUV of the Year.
