The GE U30B is a diesel-electric locomotive that GE Transportation produced between 1966 and 1975. It was a further development of the U28B, using a 16-cylinder prime mover rated at 3,000 horsepower. It competed with the EMD GP40 and the ALCO Century 430 but was not as successful as the six-axle GE U30C. The U23B was a derivative of the U30B with a lower power rating. Western Pacific number 3051, donated by Union Pacific in 1985, is preserved at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, California.
