GE U20C

Diesel and Electric Locomotives

The GE U20C is a diesel-electric locomotive that GE Transportation Systems introduced in 1964 as an export model. It is powered by an eight-cylinder 7FDL-8 engine, though other engines such as the 7FDL8 and 7FDL12 have been fitted, and like the other members of the Universal series it can be built to suit any track gauge. The type is used worldwide with many variations and modifications. In Indonesia it was built by PT INKA from 1996 as the CC 203, and one Indonesian-built unit later went to Australia, where it was renumbered U201 and acquired around 2015 by Transperth Train Operations in Perth, Western Australia, as a shunting locomotive.
