GE ET44C4

Diesel and Electric Locomotives

The ET44C4 is the Tier 4, 4,400 horsepower Evolution Series locomotive that has four traction motors on six axles, and it was built from 2015 to 2020. It is the four traction motor version of the ET44AC and uses a dynamic weight management system in place of a traction motor on the middle axle of each truck. It is the successor of the ES44C4. BNSF Railway is the only owner of the model, with 325 units numbered from 3675 to 3999, and like the rest of the Evolution Series it is powered by the GE GEVO engine.
