Flying Cloud was an American clipper ship that in 1854 set the sailing record for the passage between New York and San Francisco around Cape Horn, completing it in 89 days and 8 hours. The record stood for more than 135 years, unbroken until 1989, making her one of the most celebrated vessels of the clipper ship era.
