Fiat Ducato II

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Fiat Ducato II is the second generation of the light commercial van built by Fiat in collaboration with Citroen and Peugeot, sold alongside the Citroen Jumper and Relay I and the Peugeot Boxer and Manager I. At the start of 1994 it replaced the Ducato I and its clones, keeping the Ducato name, with the same improved Fiat mechanical base under a more aerodynamic body, and it won the title Van of the Year. It came as vans and chassis cabs with gross vehicle weights of 2.7 to 3.5 tonnes and wheelbases of 2.85, 3.20 or 3.70 metres, and became a favourite base for camper vans. The Fiat versions had Fiat Powertrain diesel engines, including an exclusive direct injection 2.5 litre turbodiesel, which became 2.8 litres in 1998. It was built mainly at the Sevel Sud plant at Atessa in Italy, and also by Karsan in Turkey from 2000, Iveco in Brazil from 2000 and Severstal in Russia from 2008. A restyling came in February 2002, the three millionth vehicle was reached on 15 December 2005, and production ended in December 2016.
