Fiat 306

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Fiat 306 was an Italian bus built by Fiat Veicoli Industriali, the Fiat division that made its trucks and buses before Iveco was formed. Production began in 1956 and ended in 1982. It was made in three series, the 306/2 launched in 1960 and the 306/3 of 1962 with a different body, and it was sold as a bare chassis to which coachbuilders such as CANSA, Orlandi, Menarini, Barbi and the Belgian firm Van Hool added their own bodies. It was used in large numbers by local transport operators across Italy. Its six cylinder inline diesel engine sat underneath the floor, and in 1977 Iveco launched the 370, which replaced it.
