FAW Oley

Automobiles

The FAW Oley is a subcompact car sold as a sedan and a hatchback, built by FAW Group under the Oley brand, which was revealed in November 2011 for younger buyers. The sedan began as the A130, originally developed as the B30 for the Bestune brand, but its design was judged too radical for Bestune, and the platform, derived from the Mark 2 Volkswagen Jetta and criticised as cheap, led FAW to create a separate brand. The sedan launched in China in March 2012 with a 1.5 litre engine of 102 horsepower and either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox, and the hatchback followed in December 2013. An electric hatchback, the Oley EV, arrived in 2015 with a range of 150 kilometres.
