The Eurostar e320 is a high-speed electric trainset built by Siemens on its Velaro platform for Eurostar, the international rail operator running trains through the Channel Tunnel between the United Kingdom, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, entering service in 2015. Built as a longer sixteen-car trainset than the earlier Eurostar Class 373 sets, and rated for a higher top speed, the e320 was designed to meet more demanding cross-border technical approval requirements across the several national rail networks Eurostar operates over, a process that delayed its introduction by several years beyond its original planned service date. The e320's number designation refers to its top operating speed of 320 kilometers per hour, faster than the maximum speed of the Class 373 sets it has gradually supplemented and replaced on core routes.
