The DRG Class 05 is a German streamlined express passenger steam locomotive class introduced by Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1935, built to haul fast passenger trains on the Berlin to Hamburg line. One example set a world speed record for steam traction of 200.4 kilometers per hour in 1936, a record for conventional steam locomotives that stood for decades.
