Dornier Do K

Pioneer and Early Aviation Aircraft

The Dornier Do K was a German commercial passenger and freight monoplane designed by Claude Dornier and built by Dornier Flugzeugwerke at the end of the 1920s. Three prototypes of different designs were built and the type was not a commercial success. The K1 of May 1929 was a braced high-wing monoplane with one radial engine and performed poorly. The K2 had four engines in tandem pairs, and the K3 had a cantilever wing, an oval fuselage stretched for ten passengers and four Walter Castor engines. Its performance improved greatly, but it drew little interest and no more were built.
