The Dornier Do 22 was a German seaplane of the 1930s that, despite good performance, was built only in small numbers and entirely for export. Dornier's Swiss subsidiary at Altenrhein designed it as the three-seat single-engined military floatplane Do C3, and the first of two prototypes flew in 1935. A parasol-wing monoplane of fabric-covered all-metal construction, it could carry a torpedo or bombs. Production aircraft went to Yugoslavia, Greece and Latvia, and the type was used in the Second World War by Finland, Greece and Yugoslavia.
