The Dennis Eagle eCollect, introduced in 2019, was billed as the world's first OEM all-electric refuse collection vehicle. It is based on the Elite 6 architecture with an electric drive system and an Olympus body, and is offered as a compact 4x2 and a larger 6x2. The 4x2 has a 180 kWh battery, an 18,000 kg gross weight and an Olympus OL10N body; the 6x2 has a 300 kWh battery, a 27,000 kg gross weight and an Olympus 19N body of 18.7 cubic metres. Dennis Eagle says an overnight charge is feasible, about 6 hours 45 minutes for the 6x2 and 3 hours 30 minutes for the 4x2, and that power steering keeps working when the vehicle has no charge. An electrically driven pump supplies the hydraulic power for the body.
