The Dallara SP1, also known as the Chrysler LMP, was a Le Mans Prototype built by the Italian firm Dallara for the LMP900 class, developed from 2001 as a customer alternative to factory-backed efforts. Chrysler, with partner Oreca, adopted the design while it was still being completed and powered its cars with a Mopar 6.0 litre V8, and Oreca assisted with the chassis, which carries the DO (Dallara-Oreca) designation. After Chrysler withdrew, privateers used Judd V10 engines of 4.0 to 5.0 litres. A Chrysler LMP finished fourth at the 2001 24 Hours of Le Mans, and a Doran Racing car won the 24 Hours of Daytona overall on its debut there. Six SP1s were built, and changes to the prototype rules ended the car's career after the 2005 season.
