The Dallara GP3/16 was the third generation car of the GP3 Series, the feeder series for GP2, built by the Italian manufacturer Dallara, which also designs the chassis for the parent series. It made its debut at the start of the 2016 season in Barcelona and remained in use until the final season of the series in 2018. Dallara began its development, design and construction in mid-2014, and the first chassis began assembly in July 2015 and was completed in September. The car has a more radical design than the GP3/13, with an F1 style lower nose, an original rear wing, air ventilation in both sidepods and the engine cover, and a more conventional engine cover in place of the shark fin. Its rear wing was slightly updated for 2017 to take the Drag Reduction System. Power came from a 3.4 litre naturally aspirated, direct injected V6 developed by Mecachrome Motorsport, replacing the P57 of the GP3/13.
