The Dallara GP2/08 was an open-wheel racing car built by the Italian manufacturer Dallara for the GP2 Series, the feeder series for Formula One. It was the second generation car of the series, replaced the GP2/05 and was used from 2008 to 2010. Planning began in September 2006 under the series Technical Director Didier Perrin, who set the design parameters before Dallara did the detailed design, and the partnerships of the first three years continued: a Dallara chassis, a Renault branded engine and gearbox by Mecachrome and Bridgestone tyres. The car had a very low nose, single keel suspension, a sculpted front wing, redesigned sidepods and a tighter engine cover over the Mecachrome built V8. It carried anti intrusion panels and was the only car outside Formula One to pass the 2007 Formula One crash test. Nelson Piquet Jr. made its first shakedown run, 60 laps at Paul Ricard on 26 June 2007.
