The Dallara F312 is a Formula Three racing car built by the Italian manufacturer Dallara and designed to meet the FIA Formula 3 regulations that came in for 2012, which were much more restrictive than the earlier rules and led to reduced downforce. Compared with the F308 it has a higher monocoque and a lower nose section, with the front dampers and springs placed inside the tub, a first for a Dallara F3 car, and a revised aerodynamic package. The car was unveiled at the Masters of Formula 3 event on 20 October 2011 at Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands. It proved one of the most popular Formula 3 chassis ever, with over 53 of the original type produced, and it stayed widely used after the F317 arrived, in series such as the Euroformula Open Championship and the Japanese Formula 3 Championship.
